Eight Female figures visible makeup the drawing of Elephant. Four give the legs, one gives trunk and mouth, and another the tail and the last fills in the upper back of the elephant body.

Artistic items drawn on the doors of the inner chamber. Four Animals which are associated with the 4 Cardinal Directions Lion(N), Bull(E), Elephant(S), Horse(W) have been drawn composed of 9 or 7 female figures.

Disappointed that this artist was not clever enough to fill the outline of drawn animal with the images of ladies as in the drawing of the elephant I got as a Batik in India shown on top.

Nari art is also seen at Ridi Vihara and the Dalada Maligawa temples.


Nari Horse drawn on an Essay of a Rs 1 currency note which sparked my interest. Trying to find its identity and location.
